If you have any legs left after those 5 days, please go visit the new Shieling Forest letterbox in Peterborough - it's less than 15 minutes away from Jaffrey, NH where Mt. Monadnock is!

Whew! Don't forget the "power" breakfasts! Lots of carbs for you
guys. Good luck & have fun!

Aili & Bruce
hmmm, as Ai starts thinking of homemade waffles heaped with blueberry
compote, scrambled eggs, cornbeef hash, biscuits with sausage gravy,
cinnamon French toast sticks, raspberry turnovers.....Breakfast isn't
just for breakfast in our house.

Fred, for Thursday, where is the link for Blue Jay at Blue Pond? I
can't seem to recall that one and wonder if I've missed posting it
    onto the LbNA website...

Are you taking the ferry over to Long Island? Sounds like a walking
    dream of a weekend!

Oh, now he's answering his own email.....by searching the yahoo-
groups, now I see that I have missed several RI letterboxes. Sorry
Pete and Wanda! Does anyone know of other letterboxes that haven't
been posted to the LbNA pages (New England or anywhere else)?

    Thanks! Jay in CT

Well, it's finally Monday night and I am certainly curious....How did
you two make out on your Frenzy? Did you manage to get to them all?
Please, too, share your views on the places you've been.

    Re: [LbNA] Letterboxing Frenzy

    From: fred lorch (lonemasswolf@covad.net) | Date: 2001-05-22 19:25:18 UTC-04:00
We started out with brave hearts and valiant minds. On Thursday we did find
"The Little Red School House" at School House Pond, RI; The "Little Bird
House" and the "Little Bird" at Kimball Wildlife Preserve in RI; "Ninigret
Pond" (3 miles round trip on the beach in the sand); "Bird House Heaven" in
Moore Woods, RI; "Watch Hill Lighthouse" in RI; and "Wilcox Park" in RI. We
also placed the "Point Judith Lighthouse". We saved the other boxes for
another time, having run out of daylight.

On Friday, we took the ferry from New London, CT to Orient Point, LI, NY. We
found the "Orient Point" box but could not locate "Turtle Crossing" (it may
be missing, we were pretty sure about the site, although we did not scavenge
around alot due to the POISON IVY). While on Orient Point, we planted the
Orient Point Light letterbox. We then drove to Montauk Point and planted the
Montauk Point Lighthouse letterbox. Then we drove to Nesconset, to check on
my land (I was born and raised on LI). Imagine my surprise to discover
    someone had cleared my land.

Saturday was busy visiting friends and checking with the neighbors about my
land. Still, we did find the letterbox on "Jayne's Hill" and "Whisper" as
    well.

Sunday found us in Western Connecticut (had to discard plans for NY and NJ
due to land complications). We hiked and found the three letterboxes along
"Mile of Ledges", and the four boxes around "Lake Compounce". These two
trails were great warm-ups for the next day. We ran out of daylight so we
will get the Black Dog and Larry & Barb's Ledge at another time.

Monday we climbed Mount Monadnock, up the Red Dot Trail, planted "Moon Over
Pumpelly Pines", and finally found the "Sarcophagus".

That concluded our little adventure. Some great hiking and wonderful
    letterboxes.

The clues to our new ones will appear shortly.

Did you have any luck finding the Montauk Point letterbox? I'm sorry
to hear you didn't find "Turtle Crossing", and it's hitchhiker. That
area is pretty flat, and I had my doubts about it surviving.

Sounds like you guys had a great trip!

    Hey Ladybug

We did not have the clues to the Montauk Point Letterbox, the site said it
was temporarily removed. The boxes we placed at Orient Point Light and at
Montauk Point Lighthouse are part of our Lighthouse series.
